As of the latest reports, the earthquake has claimed 128 lives and left at least 141 people injured. Nepal's Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda,' has departed for the affected areas to assess the situation and offer support.
The most affected regions, with severe damage and a high number of casualties, include Jajarkot and West Rukum. In Jajarkot, 92 deaths have been reported, with additional casualties in Ramidanda of the Barekot Rural Municipality. Over 55 people have sustained injuries in Jajarkot, with several being treated at various medical facilities.
West Rukum has also witnessed significant casualties, with the death toll reaching 36 and 85 people reported injured. Both regions have seen the mobilization of security forces and medical efforts to provide relief and assistance.
The earthquake's epicenter was in Nepal, with a recorded magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter Scale and a depth of 10 km. The tremors were felt in various parts of North India, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.
